Why Gang Wars?
Everyone agrees that Ape Gang is the best NFT pixelart in town. Hands down. But in order to take things to the next level, NFT collections need utility. And Gang Wars is exactly that. Each ape comes with a unique set of traits & statistics, which allow apes to battle each other heads-on in a game of life & death (no need to worry, if your ape loses a battle he will always live to fight another day). In Gang Wars Season 1 we go one step further with all out warfare between rivalling gangs each fielding 50 battle-ready apes and led by intrepid Gang Leaders. Season 1 will be a text-based game playing out in Ape Gang’s discord over a period of 10–15 days until one gang is crowned the ultimate winner.

Each ape participating in Gang Wars Season 1 will receive at least one jaguar coin, which can be converted to a jaguar NFT. More wins for your ape will yield more coins and — in turn — more jaguar NFTs. For each coin conversion, there will be a random chance to receive a rare jaguar. Jaguars will only be available as prizes in Gang Wars Season 1. So make sure you join.
What’s so special about jaguar NFTs?
Besides being an exclusive collection stored on a dedicated ERC721 contract as a token on the Ethereum blockchain, jaguar NFTs will add utility to Ape Gang’s main collection. Both as playable characters in future seasons of Gang Wars and as an integral part of Ape Gang’s $GANG token system.

A1: Gang Wars will start in Q4 2021 once all tests have been completed to ensure everything will work perfectly! We expect season 1 of Gang Wars will last 10–15 days.
Q2: Is there a minimum number of apes needed for Season 1 to take place?
A2: There’s no minimum but we are aiming for 2500 apes.
Q3: Will there be more prizes to win if more apes join Gang Wars?**
A3: Yes. More apes joining means more jaguars to win.
Q4: Will Jaguars have traits and rarity?
A4: Yes. There will be less rare and more rare jaguar NFTs to be won.
Q5: Will there be more or less jaguars to win compared to the number of apes joining Gang Wars Season 1?

A: Yes. Toucans and jaguars will fight in Gang Wars Season 2.
Q9: Will there be more seasons after season 1?
A9: Definitely.
Q10: Can a Gang Leader already start recruiting now before the dedicated Gang Wars website is completed?
A10: By all means yes. As a Gang Leader you should definitely spend time recruiting apes for your gang via whatever communication channel you prefer. Each gang will need 50 apes.
Q11: Can apes from the same owner join the same Gang and / or different Gangs as long as an ape only joins one Gang?
A11: When you log in to the dedicated Gang Wars website, which will go live during November 2021, you will have the possibility to see the existing gangs and to apply for different gangs with the apes you own. As long as you are not accepted in a gang you can apply in other ones. However, as soon as you join a gang, it is permanent (BUT ONLY for Season 1) even if you sell your ape(s), the next owner(s) will not be able to change. After Season 1, gangs will be reset in preparation for Season 2.
Q12: How will you organize and plan individual fights?
A12: We will make a tournament tree to organize the gangs’ fights. The opponents of each gang will be distributed randomly.
Q13: Will all apes fight each other at the same time or in sequence?
A13: Apes will fight in sequence and when an ape survives/wins, he / (she?) will fight with the next ape from the opposing gang until he / (she?) dies.
Q14: Will the (passive) traits of individual apes only boost stats on an individual level? Or can individual ape traits improve the whole gang’s performance?
A14: In Season 1 of Gang Wars, ape traits will boost the individual stats of the respective ape in question. The boost will not affect stats of other apes in the gang.
