Years ago, we were but simple primates, swinging through the trees and eating fruits with little care for societal advancement. That is until the humans came. Building their cities ever closer to our jungle, burning our homes and stealing our trees. Little did they know we could learn, adapt and fight back. But that is a long story, and one that you must learn if you are to join us here in Ape City!

Now then where to start, I suppose I should introduce you to some of the main players, and I couldn’t do that without introducing one of the first Apes to perfect the ways of humans: Ape Lincoln.

One of the Smartest Apes in the Jungle clan he quickly became one of the group’s prominent leaders some say he was so sophisticated; he could even pass as human and walked the streets of Old Ape City without so much as a second glance. But here is where things start getting complicated, you see Ape Lincoln wanted to live alongside the humans, which a lot of apes didn’t agree with.

So then Joe confronted him. See Joe is still a smart ape but didn’t exactly love the idea of cosying up with the humans that were destroying his home. He felt a little payback was in order so made plans with a couple of the other Apes to cut off the humans main food sources (specifically the farms surrounding the city) to starve them out.

Then there’s Kong, a pretty mean ape but don’t tell him I said that. His plan was simple: kill every human that refused to leave the city. Him and his boys ain’t good thinkers but they know how to throw a punch. But even though he didn’t agree with him, he said that as long as Ape Lincoln stayed out of his way, he would be safe.

These three, all with numerous apes by their sides attacked the city. Ape Lincoln spread propaganda through one of the more civilized districts taking it as his own with the humans on the whole accepting their new cohabitants. Joe raided the farms and fought off the farmers, holding parts of the city under siege. Meanwhile, Kong’s crew tore through the upper districts striking fear into any human the crossed slaughtering any that dared to stay.

After weeks of resistance the humans eventually fell. But there was a problem. You see there were gangs forming all across the city all with apposing leaders — not just Lincoln, Joe and Kong but apes from all across the world coming to stake their claim to the abandoned utopia now named Ape City. Kong’s gang are the brutes of the city, forming the Prison gang that terrorizes neighboring gangs to strike fear into anyone who even thinks about attacking them. Then there is Joe, he and his stetson wearing buddies control most of the food so have a lot of power over the other gangs and became nicknamed the Corn gang for obvious reasons. And what about Ape Lincoln I hear you ask? Well, he serves as the perfect example of why apes have got to be both strong and smart in this new world. He held his district for a time, protecting the humans residing within but with resources spread thin and too few Apes by his side an enemy gang from the far side of the city attacked forcing Lincoln to flee into the sewers but it is said he awaits the moment where he can emerge and take control once more. But there are more gangs, many more. Ones that use wacky technology, some who have strange mutations and some that just party. But there isn’t time to tell you everything because this is where you come in Ape.

You come to Ape City at a dire time where gangs are forming and falling every day — each one battling in out to gain the upper hand. Who will you join? Could you be the Ape that makes the difference? Will your gang be victorious and lead the great Ape City for years to come?! …Or will you go back to the jungle, live in ignorance and cowardice like our ancestors?

Only you can decide but do so quickly: the gang leaders need your help…
