Special Edition Ape Gang Community Series: Get to know “Ki11fr3ak”
In this series of blog posts we interview notable Ape Gang community members. “Ki11fr3ak” became a household name in our community after his emphatic comeback win in the Tournament of Champions.
Congratulations on winning the 1 vs 1 tournament of champions. What was your strategy and why do you think you won?
Thank you, I’m super excited and honored to be the first 1v1 champion. I always wanted to own a Red Devil or a Batman and when I saw #6251 (5T Red Devil Batman) listed, I immediately set about moving ETH to buy it. Shoutout to Jhol for allowing me to negotiate a good price for the champ. Don V also helped me a lot in understanding what traits to look for and how each of them would affect the ape’s stats. Turned out that besides having the traits I wanted, this ape is a killer in Gang Wars.
Looking at the other champions, I was fairly confident that I would definitely be on the podium. Hub’s especially was a no sweat (I kid). I ran a lot of training matchups in duels and most of the time ended up loosing to #6886 and #844. So I was a little worried that my bracket placement was against Honger’s 6T Red Devil and the other two Batmans. At the end of the day, I’m super pumped that I was able to break out of the loser’s bracket and defeat Deafapegang’s ape two times in a row to claim victory.
PS: Felt great leaving all the LC apes in the dust all beaten, bruised and humiliated.

Devil Wings.

How did you find Ape Gang and why did you ape in?
A friend of mine called me up on a Saturday evening in late August and told me all about NFTs. While I knew about NFTs before but never really put my mind into owning them. He showed me his ape and I was instantly enamored. Although Ape Gang was not my first NFT, I soon gave into the amazing art and aped into buying my first ape #2696.
What are your interests outside of Ape Gang?
I love playing video games. If I’m not working, you would definitely find me playing on my computer or PS5. I’m essentially a man-child.
What do you think you’re known for in the community?
I don’t know, being an annoying member I guess?
What’s your favorite thing about the community?
I love how everybody is helpful and friendly. I know its a cliché thing to say but they truly are. I’ve been in some really toxic NFT communities and I seldom find toxicity in Ape Gang. Coming from an introverted person like me, it is something when I say I see myself spending a lot of time in the AG chat.
What’s a must know for someone wanting to join the community?
That for no matter what reason you’ll ape in into Ape Gang, you will stay for the community, team and utility.
Where do you see Ape Gang EOY (talking about floors is forbidden)?
I see the LeapN metaverse booming. I see future gang wars happening live in the metaverse and streamed on Twitch. I see our Sandbox land put to good use.
The tournaments are the most fun I’ve had in any NFT community till date. I really hope that the Gang Wars season 1 and the future seasons are events that are streamed live to a public audience with banter and team spirit in chat.
As an end note, APE Mafia WILL win. Can’t wait to cash in my jaguars.
